Bonanza opened in Prenzlauer Berg in 2006, before the neighbourhood became the thing it subsequently became. The roastery operation has expanded but the original café retains its particular atmosphere — high ceilings, light from the front windows, and a quality of focused quiet that is partly architectural and partly the result of good sourcing. The filter coffee is prepared correctly. The pastries are from the bakery next door.
