Cosmo, Sofia — SÉRIF

Cosmo occupies a ground-floor space in central Sofia with an industrial interior that uses the original structural elements without apology: reinforced concrete columns, exposed metal ductwork, brick walls stripped back to the material. The furniture is warm against the hard surfaces — oak chairs, herringbone-laid cork flooring, pendants on long cables. The bar runs along the back wall. The menu is contemporary European with a Bulgarian sourcing emphasis; the wine list has more considered natural wine than most restaurants in the city. The lunch service is local and efficient; the evening is more deliberate. A Sofia restaurant that operates at the level of its European contemporaries without the price premium that would be applied elsewhere.
