The stock covers Uruguayan and Rioplatense literature alongside a carefully selected range of international titles; the design-objects programme and the café counter operate alongside the books without competing for the room's attention. The cultural programme — readings, launches, conversations — runs through the year at the pace of the serious rather than the fashionable. The colonial neighbourhood building is old enough to have its own acoustic properties.
