Monmouth Coffee's Bermondsey roastery and café is the quieter of the company's two London operations — a working roastery with a café counter, set in one of the railway arches beneath London Bridge. The coffee programme is built on direct relationships with producers in Guatemala, Colombia, Ethiopia, and Yemen, and the seasonal single-origin filter changes according to what has been purchased and roasted that week. The Borough Market branch is busier and more central; Bermondsey is where the work actually happens. The space is industrial and undecorated in the correct sense — roasting equipment, wooden benches, the smell of fresh-roasted coffee. It opens early and closes when the day's coffee is done.
