The Schlössle occupies a collection of medieval merchant houses on Pühavaimu Street in the lower old town — the same street as one of Tallinn's oldest churches. The building dates from the 15th century and the hotel's conversion has retained the original vaulted ceilings, the uneven stone walls, and the particular darkness of medieval interiors that makes lit windows visible from the street. Rooms on the upper floors look across the red-tiled rooftops of Vanalinn toward the Toompea towers; the view from the window on a November evening is one of the better arguments for staying in the old town rather than the modern city. Breakfast is served in the stone cellar. The hotel runs to 23 rooms, which contributes to the stillness. Pühavaimu Street is quiet after nine in the evening.
