Vin Papillon is the wine bar component of the Joe Beef restaurant group — a narrow space on Rue Notre-Dame Ouest in Little Burgundy that opened as an overflow solution and became, independently, one of the most important wine lists in Canada. The list is natural and biodynamic, with a focus on small producers from France, Italy, and Quebec, presented without the formality that natural wine culture sometimes mistakes for authority. The food is snack-plate logic: vegetables, charcuterie, cheese, and combinations that make the correct argument for wine as a food subject rather than a separate one. The room is intimate, warm, and does not take reservations for the bar.
